The Olympic Park’s annual Winter Village opens with a bang on Jan. 26, with a new program that includes a winter fair with dozens of free life-size games for children, giant slides and free snowboarding rentals.
This year the theme is Winter Games and there will be tons of activities for the whole family to enjoy on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will also be a heated chalet with activities for young children and a cafe-bistro that serves hot drinks and comfort food.
SnowSkate Park features four practice areas for those who want to learn how to ski, snowboard and skate. Snowboarding equipment will be free to rent while supplies last. Those who want to try out the 300-meter natural ice rink can bring their own skates and there will also be a giant ice slide where families can ride together.
The Winter Village, now in its seventh year, features products from local artists like Electrik Kidz, Terre à Soi, La Petite Charlote, Coccinelle Jaune and Tisanerie Mandala. Restaurant Cabotins, which will sell hot drinks and crêpes, will be on site.
Throughout the winter season, the village will host a number of other activities, including the BARBEGAZI festival, which will be in full swing, offering activities based on extreme sports, on the weekends of Jan. 12 & 13 and 19 & 20.
Special programming will also be offered on March 2 for Montreal’s Nuit Blanche event and during spring break.
The fun wraps up for the season on March 9. For more information on programming and events, click here.
