Free webinar about kids’ mental health
Parenting through the storm is the title of Ann Douglas’ latest book – and she speaks from experience. As the mother of four adult children with mental health and behavioural issues, the Canadian author experienced first hand the ups and downs of raising children with differences.
On Tuesday, April 21 at 9 p.m. Douglas plans to share her knowledge during a free webinar for parents who have a child with a mental, neurodevelopmental or behavioural challenge.
The one-hour online session will offer advice on topics such as coping with worry, knowing when to act, where to turn for information, and self-care.
The webinar – and her book – are based on Douglas’ personal experience raising children diagnosed with conditions, including bipolar disorder, anorexia and ADHD, as well as on interviews with dozens of other parents.
The event is free and takes place entirely online. A question and comment period will follow Douglas’ presentation.
Participants must register ahead of time at shepell.webex.com. A web link to the seminar will be provided upon registration.
