One of the city’s leading pediatric experts on ADHD will be giving a talk at the Cote St. Luc Public Library on Wednesday, Sept. 14.

Dr. Emmett Francoeur, Director of the Child Development Program and Medical Director of the Developmental Behavioural Pediatric Services of the Montreal Children’s Hospital, will be explaining that ADHD is a biologically-based disorder and is not due to bad parenting.

He will also discuss the difficulties in making a diagnosis, common behaviours in kids with ADHD, and how best to help them. Francoeur will also touch on the importance of diagnosis in terms of preventing further problems in a child’s development and he will also answer questions from parents.

The talk begins at 7 p.m. at 5851 Cavendish Blvd. It is free but registration is required. Call 514-485-6900 ext. 4121.
