Free plays for kids all summer long in Montreal parks
Montreal’s Theatre La Roulotte will be hosting free outdoor performances for children and families across the city all summer long.
From June 28 to Aug. 23, the performers at La Roulotte will put on 49 renditions of Bras de fer at numerous parks across the city. Admission is free for all ages. Performances will be canceled in the event of rain.
Bras de fer tells the story of an 11-year-old robot boy who arrives by boat to Montreal from an unknown country. With one iron arm, he quickly becomes the centre of attention but must overcome obstacles and find his own strength in order to be accepted by his peers.
The play will be performed by graduates of the Montreal Conservatory of Dramatic Arts, as well as Graduates Interpretation, Production and Scenography from the National Theatre School of Canada. The play was written by Mathieu Héroux, the second winner of La Roulotte’s annual writing contest.
Admission is free, but space is limited.
