During Zoom meet-ups held in French, children can learn about woodpeckers, snakes, turtles and more

Bird Watching at Parc Jean Drapeau

Your kids can explore nature from the comfort of their warm, indoor home thanks to some new workshops being presented by the stafff from GUEPE (Groupe uni des éducateurs-naturalistes et professionnels en environnement).

Throughout December, the City of Montreal and the educator-naturalists at GUEPE  will present free, live nature workshops for kids about the plants and animals found in our local nature parks.

Families and children 6 and older are invited to log into Zoom on three Sunday mornings at 10.am. for the FREE workshops, held in French.

December 6: Entre tortues et couleuvres: les reptiles de Montréal
During this workshop, you can discover the snakes and turtles that live in Montreal’s nature parks. Will you be able to spot one next time you wander the trails?

December 13: L’oiseau bricoleur : le pic-bois
Have you heard that tap-tap-tapping coming from the trees? Montreal’s nature parks are home to several species of woodpeckers and winter is a great time to spot them. In this workshop you’ll learn to differentiate them using your eyes and ears.

December 20: Roches d’exception : minéraux et fossiles
Rocks, minerals and fossils. During this workshop, discover how Montreal’s geological past has enabled nature parks to become host to fossils and exceptional rocks.

All the workshops are conducted in French and registration is required. Find more information and registration details on GUEPE’s Facebook Events page.
