A celebration with tons of free kid-friendly activities will help introduce a new walkway that showcases the best of Montreal. The Inauguration of Promenade Fleuve-Montagne, a walkway that allows visitors to see the city’s architectural, historical and artistic features, will take place on July 17 from noon to 1 p.m. on McTavish St.
The celebration is occurring in conjunction with Montreal’s 375th anniversary, and will feature jazz music, cold drinks and a Photomaton booth.
Eventually, visitors will be able to enjoy a variety of different events on the promenade, including a public market, edible landscaping, gourmet food vendors, educational exhibits, an outdoor library and more.
The new path is a 3.8-km pedestrian walkway that links two of Montreal’s most iconic sites: the St. Lawrence River to the south and Mont-Royal to the north.
The celebration will take place on McTavish St. at the corner of Sherbrooke.
