Food festival aims to tickle the taste buds
The cuisine of Asia and Laos will be on display at the 2015 edition of the Laval International Gourmet Fair, taking place in August at the Laval Cosmodome. The family-friendly food fest is designed to introduce food and agricultural products from around the world, with a special focus on home-grown Quebec products.
Each day the festival will host educational workshops designed to teach children about food and healthy eating in a fun and theatrical way. Saturday will also include an interactive concert for children that features musical instruments from around the globe.
This food lovers’ festival will feature international cuisine available for purchase (most at a cost of $2 to $6). This year’s Asian theme will be prominent, with booths from Laos, Japan, Vietnam and Thailand. The festival will also feature a barbecue competition and a Latino stage with salsa dancing, music and daily entertainment.
The Laval International Gourmet Fair takes place from Aug. 19 to 23 at 2150 Laurentian Autoroute in Laval. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for youths 10 to 17, and free for children under the age of 10.
