Firefighter festival a fun weekend bash
It started out as a one-day event in 2007, but Laval’s Firefighter Festival is now a weekend-long affair being held this year from May 29 to 31.
Families can enjoy an array of free interactive activities and musical performances. The event will feature inflatables as well as face painting and an antique fire truck display.
Along with these activities, firefighters will lead a smokehouse simulation to teach children about fire safety and prevention tactics. On Sunday May 31, multiple races of varying length (two, five, 10 and 21 kilometres) will be held and the money from registration fees will go towards the Fondation des pompiers du Québec pour les grands brûlés, an organization that helps the rehabilitation of burn victims.
The festival will take place at Centropolis, 1799 Pierre-Péladeau Ave., Laval.
