Once you decide to start a family, finances take on a whole new life.  To simplify and take the stress out of money worries, the Atwater Library, funded by Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF), is piloting a financial-education program for families with young children.

It will be an informal gathering where information can be shared and parents can learn from each other. There will also be an animator to keep kids busy.

On Oct. 19, the Feeding Your Family Well (keeping on budget) workshop will focus on recipes and tips for nutritious affordable meals as well as what to do with leftovers and storing food so it lasts longer.  From 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Taxes and Young Families takes place on Nov. 9 and there will be a presentation followed by a discussion and Q&A period. From 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
