Combining the worlds of film and LEGO, the third annual edition of Ciné Brique will be held on Nov. 19 and 20.
The brickfilm festival will screen several movies submitted by professional filmmakers and amateurs alike using stop-motion technology and Lego pieces. Participants can enter their creations into three categories: the “Rookie” category for filmmakers under 18, a category that followed a theme of “Legends and Tales”, and a third one for general submissions. Only the top films in each category will be screened.
The two-day festival also features an exhibition where families can check out different landscapes created entirely out of LEGO pieces. There will be concession stands as well as LEGO sets for sale. Admission costs $10 for adults, $5 for kids ages 4-17 and is free for toddlers under the age of 3. Cash or Interac are only payment methods accepted.
The festival takes place Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Champlain College, 900 Riverside St. in St. Lambert.
