The Château Ramezay – Historic Site and Museum of Montréalinvites young and old to discover the world of squash with Pick a Peck of Pumpkins, a one-month outdoor exhibition. Every year, pumpkins dominate autumn, sometimes overshadowing humbler members of the squash family, which have many everyday uses. Look for squash not only at mealtimes, but in beauty products and as percussion instruments and decorative items. Cultivated for over 5,000 years, squash are now native to every continent. Something for the whole family With a tour designed specially for them, children will get to meet many members of the squash family. A free activity booklet will introduce them to Reddy, the friendly red pumpkin, and his many cousins. Cucumbers, zucchinis and patty-pan squash join force to help young botanists track down the mystery word! While the children are off exploring, discover multiple uses for squash by going through the paths in the Governor's Garden. This is the last time this popular exhibition will be presented at the Chateau, so don't miss it!
