Journée Vélo (Vaudreuil-Dorion)

As part of Bike Month, the City of Vaudreuil-Dorion is proud to present a new event related to cycling. Designed for the whole family, Bike Day combines both the participatory aspect, with agility courses for children, and the educational aspect, with the presence of kiosks on bicycle mechanics and safety. 

Programming

• Animation (smoothie bike, musical bike, etc.)
• Creation of stickers for helmets and bicycles on a digital tablet with the Lab (Mozaïk Caravan)
• Demonstration and introduction to BMX with the Club BMX Vaudreuil-Soulanges
• Introduction to electric biking with the Zèbre Rouge (demonstration of changing an inner tube)
• Family picnic, presented by the Maison de la famille Vaudreuil-Soulanges

Bike agility course

Young people aged 5 to 11 are invited to participate in a 90-minute workshop during which they will exercise their balance, trajectory and propulsion on the bike. Online reservations required.

10:15 to 11:45 a.m.: 5 to 7 years old
1:15 to 2:45 p.m.: 8 to 11 years old

“Embarquez” kiosk

Children will have the chance to learn about cycling thanks to different routes, modules and games of skill. Loan of bikes on site. No registration required.

Sûreté du Québec kiosk

11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Sûreté du Québec will have a booth on the prevention of bicycle theft and the highway safety code. Those who wish can have their bike chiselled on site for free. In the event of theft, it will be all the easier to trace it since it will be listed in the police database.

Mechanics kiosk

Participants will learn more about the best mechanical practices to adopt throughout the year with your bike and how to equip yourself well to be prepared for the different eventualities of the road. Nature-Action Québec will be present to answer questions from cyclists based on their practice, whether utilitarian, sporting or recreational.
