The Dorval Soapbox Derby starts at 10 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m. on Sept. 14. Though an event for children between 7 and 12 years old, it provides tons of fun to people of all ages. In addition to the race, the Gerry Cup, now in its fourth year, will also be awarded to the racer with the most creative helmet.

While it may provide excitement for those participating, the Derby also benefits those who may not be there. All proceeds from canteen sales will be donated to various local community groups.
