If you have lived in the West End for a long period of time, you likely remember the iconic pirate ship at Quartier Cavendish (the former Cavendish Mall). Many families were disappointed when it was taken down a number of years ago but recently a new play structure called Gymanou is filling the space.“I used to play in the pirate ship when I was younger,” said owner Emmanuel Darmond. “I wanted to try and bring that sense of fun back to the mall.”
Gymanou covers roughly 1,300 square feet or about 121 square metres of space and is a multi-level indoor play structure. Each level offers a different and engaging activity, including slides and climbing blocks for children up to the age of 10.
There are also programs such as Drop and Go and Homework Then Play that allow parents to leave their kids with supervisors. There are even cameras on the playground so that parents can keep an eye on their kids through a live camera feed on their smart phones and other devices. Admission for children ages 1½ to 10 is $10 and $3 for adults. There are special rates for mothers with babies as well as parties.
