Concordia camp explores the world of science

Kids can build a terrarium, create a parachute and do chemistry experiments in a lab at the Concordia Institute of Aerospace Design and Innovation science-themed summer day camp for kids aged 6 to 13.

Now in its second year, this camp is held at the university’s EV building (Engineering, Computer Science and Visual Arts Integrated Complex) at the downtown campus. Campers will take part in a variety of workshops and creative activities designed to cultivate a love of science. Workshops will be led by faculty members, professors and Concordia students.

There will also be daily free play outside of the Grey Nuns’ building around the corner from the EV building, and athletic outings to the Stinger Dome at the Loyola campus in N.D.G. Campers will also be taken on educational field trips to local scientific institutions like the Cosmodome, Insectarium, the Redpath Museum and the Canadian Space Agency.

Weekly sessions run from July 3 to Aug. 25 and cost $250, with a 15 per cent discount for each additional child. Morning and afternoon daycare services will also be available. The EV Building is located at 1515 Ste. Catherine St. W.
