Put away the passports because you don’t need to board a plane to enjoy Club Med’s newest destination. Officially opening to guests on December 3, 2021, Club Med Quebec is the company’s first foray into Canada and will offer year-round activities as well as rest and relaxation.
Located 90 minutes from Quebec City in the Le Massif de Charlevoix region, the four-season waterfront resort covers more than 300 acres of natural landscape with impressive views of the nearby St. Lawrence River. It features 302 rooms as well as luxury suites — all designed to reflect the character of the mountainous surroundings. Dining options include the main restaurant Le Marché, with a wide selection of local and international cuisine, Terroir & Co where kids and parents can prepare fondue and raclette meals, taste local cheeses and charcuteries, and freshly baked cookies as well as Le Chalet, a gourmet lounge for some quiet parents-only time.
Winter adventures abound
Ski enthusiasts can enjoy unlimited ski-in/ski-out access on the biggest vertical slope east of the Rockies. For those not spending the whole day on the hills, the outdoors offers a winter playground with even more adventure. Guests can add a-la-carte activities such as dogsledding, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, sledding down Le Massif’s 7.5 km long track, ice-fishing, and even ice-canoeing.
“Charlevoix is known for its pristine beauty, warm hospitality and charming culture,” says David Meyer, Project Director of Club Med North America.
Family-friendly packages and activities
Club Med’s all-inclusive package includes accommodations, unlimited meals and beverages, and daily entertainment. Lift tickets, group ski and snowboard lessons, and access to a 25-yard heated indoor pool are available at no added cost. Guests can participate in Club Med Family programming that includes their Children’s Clubs and has activities for all ages. And to make travelling easy on families, childcare equipment such as strollers, baby bathtubs, and changing tables for children up to 23 months can be reserved for free in advance. A baby feeding room available 24/7 is stocked with a blender, sterilizer, bottle warmer, microwave, and fridge, as well as snacks; and babysitting services are available for an extra cost.
“By introducing our successful mountain resort model from the Alps and bringing our expertise to Quebec’s Charlevoix region, we look forward to giving travellers the opportunity to roam freely and fully immerse themselves in one of the most unique and spectacular skiing destinations east of the Rockies,” says Carolyne Doyon, CEO and President of Club Med North America.
