Quadrilium Tutoring Centre is offering four day camp programs this year that will appeal to future Broadway stars, Picassos, Einsteins and globe trotters.
Whether the focus is on theatre, art, science or geography & world cultures, each camp is designed to be both educational and playful, developing academic strength and language skills while enjoying summer vacation.
The bilingual Off-Off-Broadway musical comedy program offers kids a taste of fame on stage, while also strengthening second-language skills. Children will take part in dance, singing, theatre and poetry while learning new vocabulary and improving French and English fluency.
In the Little Picasso program, children drawn to visual arts will practice fundamental art techniques in drawing, watercolor and gouache. In addition to creative exploration, kids will also enjoy animation, games, art history, improvisation, collage, and more.
Science-minded kids can join the Genius Einstein program, where they will answer questions about the water cycle, air and atmosphere, the human body and plant biology through experiments designed to test hypotheses, develop scientific understanding and encourage analysis. In addition, children will participate in field trips, quizzes and debates.
And for children who dream of exploring the world, the Globe-Trotter theme will help them learn to read maps, discover the planet and get to know past civilizations as well as today’s world culture. Activities will include quizzes, games, outings, visits to museums and other field trips.
Camps will run from June 26 to Aug. 18 at a new location on Decarie Boulevard. Prices range from $185 to $250 per week depending on the theme, plus a $35 registration fee. A 50 per cent discount is available for a sibling. Registration fees are waived for clients of the tutoring centre, who also benefit from a 50 per cent discount on registrations of two weeks or more. All camps incorporate at least one hour per day of outdoor sports and recreation. Before and after childcare is available and is included in the cost.
