At Camp Santosh, kids take part in traditional summer camp activities including kayaking, nature walks, games and interactive discussions. However, they also learn life skills and tools to manage stress and negative emotions. Campers are taught how to achieve their goals through various activities including yoga, meditation and breathing techniques.
The July 22 to 29 and July 30 to Aug. 6 sleepover camp, presented by the Art of Living Foundation, features YES! (ages 13-17) and Art Excel (ages 8-12) that prepare students to excel in all areas of life, teaching children how to maintain a healthy lifestyle, body, and mind.
Both programs teach the Sudarshan Kriya breathing technique, a way to calm the mind, reduce anxiety, and remove doubts. Campers learn how to continue these practices at home to improve their focus at school, cope with negative emotions like anger and fear, increase their creativity and confidence, and relate better to their parents and peers.
The International Art of Living Campus is located on 275 acres with five lakes. There is also a two-acre organic garden and orchard so campers will learn about various gardening practices as well as nutrition and vegetarian cooking.
Camp Santosh is located at the International Art of Living Centre at 13 de L’Infinite Rd., St. Mathieu-du-Parc. Registration costs $795 (before May 25) and $895 afterwards.
