Camp Edphy opens two new camp locations
Camp Edphy is expanding by offering day camps at two new locations: Villa Maria High School in N.D.G. and at Jean XXIII Secondary School in Dorval. The camp focuses mainly on physical education, including all types of sports as well as outdoor and indoor activities. Though predominantly francophone, counsellors speak French and English.
President Francois Rioux says that while popular sports like badminton, karate and basketball are offered at Edphy, there are also specialized activities, such as rock climbing, circus fun, and archery.
Moreover, amenities like projectors, screens and computer rooms available at Villa Maria will make it possible to offer a short film program as well as English and French courses. There is a language academy that allows kids to learn a new language or develop their current skills. At Jean XXIII, swimming lessons will be offered at an indoor pool and there will be magic shows.
Edphy also has a residential camp located in Val-Morin in the Laurentians for kids up to the age of 16. The day camp is geared to kids 3 to 15 and there will be open houses for the Villa Maria location, 4245 Decarie Blvd., on April 11, and at Jean XXIII, 1301 Dawson Ave. in Dorval on April 12. Both will go from 10 a.m. to noon.
