All roads lead to Brome…at least, it seems that way every Labour Day weekend when the tiny village in Quebec (whose population is roughly 250) welcomes more than 40,000 people to its annual agricultural event.

The Brome Fair, taking place from Sept. 1-4, will feature tons of kid-friendly entertainment. In addition to tractor pulls, pony rides and petting zoos, kids can explore a carnival-themed amusement park with a giant Ferris wheel, fun houses and more.

Other activities include the all-ages Barn Dance on Sept. 1 at 8 p.m., and the Farmer-for-a-Day workshops in the Agri-Zone Kiddie Corner, where experts will be on hand to teach the basics of farming.

The Agri-Zone will also have inflatables, games, and magic shows. Kids will be able to hop aboard an express train for a little jaunt or ride Bella the Mechanical Cow. The event’s annual Big Parade, which will feature live music and animals, kicks off at 1 p.m. on Sept. 3. Families can also check out the horticultural and antique machinery displays.

Day passes for all ages cost $15 while Family Passes for two adults and two children under 12 cost $50 per day. All passes include access to rides, shows and attractions. The fair will be open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. and on Monday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Brome is just over an hour’s drive from Montreal.
