Biodome to close for renovations

If you’ve been thinking about taking a trip to the Biodome, it’s best not to put it off much longer. The popular attraction will soon be closed for more than a year while it undergoes substantial renovations.

According to communications coordinator Nadine Fortin, the last day to visit the Biodome will be April 2 and it will be closed from April 3 until the summer of 2019.

The renovations are aimed at improving the visitor experience, and will cost an estimated $19-million. Improvements are to include new walkways, and cosmetic improvements to modernize the facility.

The Biodome is one of Montreal’s most popular tourist attractions. The nature museum features detailed re-creations of four ecosystems — a tropical rainforest, northern hardwood forest, sub-arctic climate and Gulf of St. Lawrence — along with live plants and animals.
