Bilingual students sought for leadership program
French for the Future, a national non-profit organization that supports and encourages bilingualism among Canadian students, is inviting grade 10 high school students from Quebec to apply for a chance to join the 12th annual National Ambassador Youth Forum.
Thirty students from across Canada will be selected to become the organization’s newest ambassadors and participate in a five-day cultural and linguistic experience.
Suzanne Aranda, communications manager, said that the students will reflect on the challenges and issue of bilingualism, develop a joint project together and commit to making various changes within their community. The program aims to encourage teens to value French heritage, appreciate its culture and improve fluency.
This year’s forum will be in Moncton, New Brunswick, from Aug. 13 to 18. There are no registration fees and travel, food and lodging are provided for all participants.
Students must submit their application by April 30 at french-future.org.
