Bicycle swap helps cancer patients

This spring, help make the lives of cancer patients more comfortable by giving your old bike a second life.

On May 5, the Friends of the MUHC and Cycle Neron will be hosting the third annual edition of CycleSwap, a fundraiser benefiting the MUHC’s Oncology department. During the event, people can sell or donate your “ready-to-ride” bikes, or if you’re in the market for a new one, you can also purchase one at the event. Experts will be on-hand to help you determine the best bicycle for you. Proceeds will go towards buying state-of-the-art pain medication pumps that will allow patients to administer their medication from home.

Along with refreshments and snacks, and visitors can also speak with bike experts to get a helmet fitting, and learn about bike safety. Kids can take part in an obstacle course and learn cycling techniques from Pedalheads camp representatives.

The event will be held at Lower Canada College, 4090 Royal Ave., from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, click here
