Benefit concert to feature family-friendly performance

A concert benefiting a special program at the South Shore Reading Council (SSRC) will feature a live performance by Grammy-award winner and children’s musician, Jennifer Gasoi.

The event will take place on Oct. 14 at St. Lambert International High School and will help raise funds for the Parent & Child Mother Goose Program, which teaches parents how to sing to their young children.

The concert will kick off at 10 a.m. and will last for just over an hour. Kids are invited to sing and dance along as Gasoi performs some of her most popular children’s songs.

The South Shore Reading Council is located in Longueuil on the South Shore of Montreal and offers private reading and writing tutorials to all ages. The free 10-week program encourages parent-child interaction, language acquisition and socialization and is recommended for parents with children aged 0-3.

Gasoi won the Grammy award for Best Children’s Album in 2014 for Throw A Penny in the Wishing Well.

St.-Lambert International High School is located at 675 Green St. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for children aged 3 and up. You can purchase your tickets online at www.ssrc.ca.
