Autism fundraiser: Montreal Walks
Autism Speaks Canada, a national advocacy and support organization, is hosting its second annual fundraising event, Montreal Walks, on May 27, 2012.
Come rain or shine, individuals or teams will cover a two-and-a-half kilometre course at the Stade Uniprix in Jarry Park. Money raised will go towards research and programs for children with autism.
The event will feature inflatables, face painting, crafts and entertainment for the whole family. There will also be a resource tables for people to learn about local services and programs.
Participants are encouraged to register in advance. There is no minimum amount of money required to participate, but each registered walker who raises $150 or more will receive a Walk Now for Autism Speaks T-shirt. On the day of the event, registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the walk starts at 10 a.m.
