The offer, which lasts until Jan.15, allows visitors to see 750 works of art including classic pieces by Renaissance painter Pieter Brueghel, French sculptor Auguste Rodin and Catalan surrealist Joan Miró. Also on display are works by contemporary artists like Patrick Beaulieu and Martha Townsend. All of these pieces are found in the newly-opened Michal and Renata Hornstein Pavilion for Peace.
During the December Family Weekends events, families can take part in several free art activities and workshops like making paper snowflakes and using digital lighting techniques to create wintry shadow landscapes. The schedule is posted on their website.
The museum is located at 1380 Sherbrooke St. W. For more information, visit www.mbam.qc.ca
