An app all about kids and play

Most parents dread hearing these two short words: “I’m bored.” But now there’s an app that can help parents generate ideas about how to keep the kids occupied.

The Neighbourhood Toy Stores of Canada (NETS) has created a free application called “Let’s Play” for Apple and Android devices that’s loaded with game ideas, articles and toy suggestions. It even includes a section called Play Ideas with tips on how parents can play with their kids without expensive toys. Suggestions include activities like kick-the-can, rock collecting and song writing.

The Parent Zone section features articles from Parentscanada.com about keeping kids active, preventing obesity and how to make a bird feeder.

For parents wanting to buy toys, the app has a list of the most popular ones for indoor, outdoor, and quiet play, as well as toy stores listed by province.

To get the app, visit toystoreapp.com.
