After-school program hosts production of Annie

Students interested in the performing arts can sign up for a new Broadway Bound program, where they will learn about theatre, singing and dance.

The after-school program will be held at Riverdale High School in Pierrefonds from January to May and will conclude with a production of Annie. Students will learn vocal warm-ups and exercises, improv, scene studies and more. While no experience is needed, and everyone will get a role in the final performances, students do need to audition for the most demanding roles.

The program costs $175 and is geared to kids ages 7-18. Classes will take place on Wednesdays from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. until noon.

Broadway Bound held a musical theatre program over the summer and it was a big success, which is why they decided to extend the program to the fall and winter.

Students who are interested must attend an information session (at 6 p.m.) before the first class on Jan. 9.
