Actors offer animated tour of wax museum

It's a museum of wax figures, but the Grévin Wax Museum is holding more interactive events.

Visitors to the Grévin Wax Museum can now walk among the lifelike statues of their favourite celebrities or historical figures on new guided tours.

Every Sunday at 10:30 a.m., two local professional actors provide interesting background information and fun facts on the different wax figures and sets. The guides take you through the museum’s eight different universes, including the Arena, which features prominent Canadian athletes, New France, which looks at our province’s rich history and the Ballroom, which showcases all the glitz and glamour of Hollywood’s most famous figures. Visitors can also get a sneak peek at how the statues are created in the backstage universe.

“We want to open the museum more to families,” said Grévin communications manager Alice Carvalho. In order to make the museum more interactive and accessible to children, Grévin has been holding different activities, including an Easter egg hunt last month.

The tours last approximately an hour and a half and are in French. Carvalho said that if they are positively received by visitors, English tours will be offered in the summer.

Admission is $22 for adults, $18 for teenagers and $60 for families. The museum is located in the Eaton Centre, 705 Ste. Catherine St. W.
