Acting workshops for kids taking place this summer
Do you have a future theatre star in your family? If so, he or she may enjoy watching the Shakespeare-in-the-Park performances of Much Ado About Nothing in parks across Montreal this summer.
Before the July 23 and 28 shows, the Geordie Theatre School will be hosting two-hour acting workshops for kids and teens called Shakespeare-Before-the-Show. Participants will learn tips on how to understand Shakespearean language and even speak a little on their own. They’ll also meet the cast and director of the play before participating in a professional pre-show warm-up.
Registration costs $35 per child but spaces are limited and each workshop only admits 10 kids per class. To register, click here.
Westmount Park will host two workshops; one for 8-12 year-olds and one for 13-17 year-olds from 4 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. on July 23 and Centennial Park in Beaconsfield will host another workshop for 11-17 year-olds from 4 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. on July 28.
The Shakespeare-in-the-Park performances are free and will take place in various parks around Montreal from July 13 to August 15. For a full list of the Shakespeare-in-the-Park performances throughout Montreal, click here.
