A sporting event for kids with intellectual disabilities
Special Olympics Quebec is dedicated to enriching the lives of the thousands of people living with an intellectual disability through sports and competition. June 21 marks the second edition of their Youth Games, which will offer sports activities tailored for youngsters with intellectual disabilities between the ages of 2 to 12.
The event is free and will take place at the Concordia University Sports Complex, 7200 Sherbrooke St. W, between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
The day will start with an opening ceremony after which participants will be get to try out multiple sports activities that aim to introduce them to the fundamental skills of movement. There will be a half-hour break for lunch at noon followed by an award ceremony during which each participant will receive a participation ribbon.
