A humongous waterslide like no other!
When I was a kid, my dad built a fort in our backyard, complete with a slide. Every summer, the neighbour’s kids would come over and we’d collectively haul the garden hose across the yard and fix it to the slide because we knew, as every child does, that water and sliding go hand in hand.
Well, a water slide that stretches more than three football fields in length will be set up in Montreal for one day on Aug. 15. Yep that’s right, Slip-N-Slide is 305 metres of slick, vinyl fun. There will also be live music, entertainment, food and beverages.
Owned by a company called Slide the City, Slip-N-Slide has been toted to a number of cities across North America. The location for Montreal is Parc Olympic and tickets are already on sale.
Prices vary depending on how many times you want to slide. The most expensive ticket, at $44, gives unlimited access for the day, including an hour before it opens to the general public and an hour after it closes. It also comes with a tube, mouth guard, shirt, hat and bag.
Children must be at least 5 and more than 46 inches tall to use the slide, and everyone must have an inflatable tube – there will be some for sale should you not want to haul yours across the city. You can pick up your ticket at the registration tent when you arrive on event day.
