4 new private daycares

With good childcare spots always at a premium, it’s never too early to start checking out daycare centres in your area. Here are four centres that are either quite new, are expanding or opening soon. They offer a range of options: kindergarten preparedness, organic meals and one with a secure outdoor play space downtown.

 

Garderie 7 Prom Ronald

This daycare focuses on educational and social development. Children take part in a bilingual academic program, have outdoor activities and educational toys.

Time: Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Cost: $35 a day per child or $40 a day with snacks and lunch included.

Académie Préscolaire Mont-Royal

The Académie Préscolaire Mont-Royal has recently expanded and now has additional nursery and preschool spots. They have a bilingual educational program to help prepare kids for kindergarten.

Age: infants to 5 years old

Time: Monday to Friday 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Cost: $50 for children aged 18 months to 5 years old. $55 for children under 18 months.

Garderie les Amis du Monde

This small bilingual daycare organizes activities around themes and offers games, storytime, arts and crafts and more. Their closed-in backyard provides children with a safe environment to play outside.

Age: 18 months to 5 years old
Location: 990 Hotel de Ville Ave., Montreal, on the main floor of the Montreal Chinese Hospital.
Time: Monday to Friday 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Cost: $35 per child includes breakfast, hot lunch and two snacks.

Talents123 Educational Centre (opening September 2013)

If you’re really planning ahead, this Nun’s Island daycare is slated to open next fall. Talents123 Educational Centre plans to offer a bilingual educational program with small class sizes and organic meals.

Time: Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
