New camps for kids with special needs
The Rich Rewards Child Development Centre, which works with children having language, learning and developmental disabilities, is offering three camps this summer.
-
Camp Survivor will focus on reading and writing as well as social skills and sensory integration.
-
Camp Chatz
will help kids work on reading, listening skills and comprehension. Campers will also do science and spend time playing outside.
-
Camp Fun and Friends is for kids with an autism spectrum disorder and will focus on sensory integration, social skills and language arts. Children do not need a formal diagnosis of autism to attend but must be screened at the centre to ensure a proper match.
The camps take place at the Rich Rewards Centre, 4141 Sherbrooke St. W., and run Monday to Friday for two-week sessions from June 15-Aug 28. Camp Chatz and Camp Survivor take place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. while Camp Fun and Friends runs from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Cost is $445 per week. For more information, call (514) 933-8255 or go to
