Havelock Fair showcases rural life
Looking for a fun family fall outing? Then you might want to check out the Havelock Fair on September 8, 2012, which is 45-minutes southwest of Montreal by car. The fair offers families a chance to experience rural traditions complete with live music by local artists.
Local artisans will be showcasing paintings, crochet, embroidery, children’s crafts, and quilts that demonstrate what life was like in the 1800s. The fair also aims to promote agricultural awareness with homemade baked goods and locally grown vegetables and flowers. There will also be horse and cattle shows, a petting zoo with goats, rabbits and a variety of fowl, a livestock-judging contest, and pony rides. Profits from the fair will go to support the Hemingford Legion.
The fun starts at 8 a.m. and wraps up at 4 p.m. Admission is $7 for adults, and free for children under 12.
