Bestselling young adult author Maggie Stiefvater is coming to Montreal this month for a book signing event at Babar Books in the West Island.

Stiefvater is the author of the Books of Faerie series as well as the Shiver series and The Scorpio Races. On Nov. 8 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., the Virginia-based writer will present her latest book, All the Crooked Saints, a tale of darkness, forbidden love, and family aimed at youth aged 12 and up.

The story follows a family with the power to perform miracles, and three cousins who long to change their future. Beatriz, a girl without feelings, wants only to be free to examine her thoughts. Daniel performs miracles for everyone but himself. Meanwhile, Joaquin spends his nights running a renegade radio station under the name Diablo Diablo. Although they are all looking for a miracle, in the end no one gets quite what they expect.

The event will include an author Q&A, refreshments and book signing. Babar Books is located at #6-46 St. Anne St. in Pointe-Claire village.
