Hudson hosts St. Patrick's Day Parade
If you are looking for a tamer version of the downtown parade, head over to Hudson on March 17. There will also be an after-parade party at the community centre
If you prefer a smaller scale parade, head to Hudson on Saturday, March 17. Now in its ninth year, this parade will have various floats that will head east along Main St., from Cote St. Charles to Cameron St. Last year, approximately 16,000 people watched the parade and more than 1,000 people participated.
The wearing of everything green — boas, crazy hats, sweatshirts or even face paint — is welcome and encouraged. In fact, seeing the elaborate make up and outfits puts a smile on people’s faces as they make their way to the festivities. For more information, visit www.hudsonparade.ca.
If you would like to continue with the festive fun after the parade, head over to Stephen F. Shaar Community Centre. From 2:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., see the Black Watch Pipes and Drums perform, tap your feet as Irish dancers perform and meet the Queen and her court. There will also be free air-brush tattoos, hot chocolate, coffee, and scones with jam. For more information, visit www.hudson.quebec
