Spring break discounts at the Old Port
Families can take advantage of reduced rates at the IMAX movie theatre, the Science Centre, ice rink and Observation Wheel
Families can take advantage of two spring break promotions when they head to the Old Port. Until March 11, 2018, you can see an IMAX film, snack on a medium-sized popcorn and make your way across the ice at the Natrel Skating Rink for $20 a person.
There are currently three IMAX films being screened. In Tiny Giants 3D, you will explore North America's landscapes through the perspective of some of its smallest creatures. In Amazon 3D, viewers will make their way through one of the planet's most incredible ecosystems: the Amazon, and in Incredible Predators 3D, viewers can watch polar bears, cheetahs and other majestic animals try to survive in the wilderness.
For the same price, you can also take in Montreal's sights during a ride on the Observation Wheel and the spend some time skating on the outdoor rink. There will be various themes throughout the week at the rink, including Cardio on Ice, DJ on Ice and Hot Rhythms on Ice.
Visitors can also check out the Science Centre’s permanent exhibitions including Human, an interactive exploration of the future of humanity. The exhibit includes multimedia games that simulate stem cell transplants, integrating implants into the body and more. At the Fabrik Creative Factory, young inventors can create something new from a variety of random pieces; the hands-on experimental stations of Science 26; Clic!, a discovery zone for young children under 7; and The Windmills of the Imagination, featuring the world’s first electricity-to-water transformer and water-to-wind transformer.
The Montreal Science Centre is located in the Old Port, at the foot of St. Laurent Blvd. and the corner of de la Commune St. It is open from 10 a.m. to 6 pm. over the spring break period, from Feb. 23 to March 12, 2018.
