Expo Ormstown celebrates country life
This event offers families classic carnival rides, local food, live music, agriculture exhibitions and more
There is a certain old-fashioned fun in watching kids at agricultural fairs with their wide-eyed wonder at the variety of farm animals and excitement about getting on every carnival ride.
From June 6 to 9, the town of Ormstown is hoping to put a smile on the faces of hundreds of kids as it introduces them to country life at its 105th annual expo.
With classic carnival rides, local food, live music, agriculture exhibitions and more, the event will offer numerous activities and competitions.
There will be a bigger horse show this year, featuring miniature horses for the first time. Kids will be able to get up close to the animals at the petting zoo and pony rides, and at the various livestock exhibitions.
Other attractions include the popular Demolition Derby on Sunday, tractor pulls, and agriculture competitions.
Younger visitors can head to the friendship tent, where there will be a live bird exhibit and karaoke, as well as hands-on activities. There will also be face painting, magic shows, and various local vendors selling handcrafted goods and local food.
Ormstown is located approximately an hour south west of Montreal. Gates will open at 8:30 a.m. Friday and activities will run through Sunday. Passes are $12 for adults, $7 for children, and free for kids under 5. A bracelet to ride the amusement rides costs $35.
