New features at water park & entertainment complex
Complexe Atlantide has two new slides, an enchanted castle, obstacle courses and more for the summer season
After a $6-million investment, Complexe Atlantide in Lanaudière opens for the season on June 23 with a few new features including a bowl-shaped water slide and a U-shaped slide, an enchanted castle where actors dressed as mythical creatures guide you through a scavenger hunt and an aerial obstacle course where visitors are harnessed into a suspended structure. There will also be a ‘wipe-out-style’ inflatable obstacle course on the water.
Located an hour and a half north of Montreal in St. Calixte, Complexe Atlantide first opened in 2013 and now offers visitors a heated water park with more than 20 slides and water games, a camping site, a playground with inflatables, parks, a petting zoo, mini golf, a beach area and a haunted house for kids over 12.
For the first time, there will be a day camp that runs on a weekly basis for kids aged 5 to 15. Campers can take part in organized sports like soccer, volleyball, basketball and baseball, splash around at the water park, sunbathe at the lake, or get acquainted with ponies, alpacas, chickens, peacocks and other animals at the petting zoo.
Families can also turn their day trip into a weekend affair on the Atlantide campground in a tent or rent a fully-equipped camper. There are several on-site food options, including a general store and a bakery. On Saturdays, kids can enjoy parades with costumed actors and musical performances.
Admission prices vary according to the different attractions, with combination packages available as well. Complexe Atlantide is located at 11155 Rte. 335 and will be open until Sept. 4.
