Expo Ormstown a proud display of country life
The expo celebrates local agriculture with educational kiosks, livestock exhibitions and a petting zoo
Swap your sneakers for some cowboy boots and get a feel for the classic country lifestyle at the 104th edition of the Expo Ormstown, which takes place from June 7 to 10.
The fair, which celebrates local agriculture and country living, kicks off with a parade featuring schools and community organizations that will compete for the title of best float
Visitors can get up close and personal with sheep, cows, chickens and pigs during the various livestock exhibitions and at the petting zoo. Little ones can take part in activities such as colouring, reading sessions and other workshops. The expo also features a demolition derby, musical performances and educational kiosks where exhibitors will give out information on animal shelters as well as the ecological aspects of local agriculture.
Admission is free for kids under 5. On Thursday, general admission is $5. For the rest of the weekend, kids ages 6-12 pay $5 and those 13 and older pay $10. Four-day passes are also available.
