Hands-on, learn-to-camp workshops
Parks Canada and Mountain Equipment Co-op host workshops and other activities during the Learn to Camp weekends
Have kids but don’t know the first thing about camping? Have no fear. Every year, Parks Canada and Mountain Equipment Co-op host Learn to Camp weekends where families can learn all the basics and stay in a tent overnight.
The 2018 edition of this event will feature workshops on camping-related skills, such as how and where to set up a tent, how to cook outdoors and other essentials.
On June 16, July 14, and August 11, Parks Canada’s Esplanade du Centenaire at the Lachine Canal will be turned into a campground. On top of various camping workshops, 30-minute rabaska outings will be offered at no extra cost.
On June 9 to 10, Lévis Forts National Historic Site will also be hosting a Learn to Camp weekend where you will get to live like a soldier in a 19th century fort environment and camp on the parade ground.
The cost starts at $88 for four people, including the tent, ground mats and breakfast. To reserve your spot, call 1-844-365-2646. Registration is on a first come, first served basis.
