Face-painting, mini tennis and more at Rogers Cup Family Weekend
The three-day event will host tons of free family-friendly activities at the Uniprix Stadium before the Rogers Cup Tennis Tournament takes over
The Rogers Cup Tennis Tournament is right around the corner and the event will bring tennis pros like Andy Murray and Milos Raonic to the Uniprix Stadium at Jarry Park for one week next month. To kick off the tournament, Rogers Cup is hosting the Milk Family Weekend from Aug. 4-6 and there will be plenty of fun activities for the whole family before the big competition.
Kids can enjoy face-painting, inflatable games, magicians, clowns, dance lessons, mini tennis courts, ping-pong tables and a photo booth during the three-day event. They will also be able to compete in precision games, fastest serve contests, and more.
On the weekend, there will be three competitions families can watch: on Friday, former professional baseball players will compete against players from the Association of Tennis Professionals, while Sunday will see a celebrity match.
On Saturday, professional hockey players will take on the ATP players in the Sportsnet Ball Hockey Challenge. The event, which will start at 2 p.m., will be the first chance hockey fans get to see Jonathan Drouin in action since the forward was traded to the Montreal Canadiens from the Tampa Bay Lightning. Other Habs players participating in the challenge are Charles Hudon and Michael McCaron, as well as Alex Burrows of the Ottawa Senators, Jonathan Huberdeau of the Florida Panthers, and Alex Killorn of the Tampa Bay Lightning.
The event is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on all three days. Free tickets are available at the Uniprix Stadium during the entire weekend and include a free two-way transit fare.
