Support group for young widows
Montrealer Lisa Blobstein was just 36 years old and a new mother when her husband died from colon cancer last year. To get through this harrowing time, she joined some support groups. But none seemed quite right because all the other members were older women. “We aren’t supposed to be a widow in our thirties,” she says. “Our experience is different than seniors who have lost a spouse.”
So Blobstein is trying to create a Young Widows Support Group. If you’re in a similar situation and would be interested in joining such a group, contact her at (514) 624-6954 or email email@example.com.
