Free tutoring and activities for children
This innovative program helps kids from low-income families get the educational help they need as well as a chance to explore the city
A Montreal charity organization is offering free educational activities for the kids from low-income families. Created by St. James United Church and Montreal City Mission (MCM), the new Kids Zone program offers tutoring sessions to help with academic skills, field trips that will enable them to explore the city and a variety of activities to promote their social and linguistic development.
MCM is a downtown community organization that finds long-term solutions to problems of poverty and social exclusion. It helps children from low-income families, kids with special needs, refugees, and immigrants break isolation and ease integration. The activities, which take place every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., are led by MCM staff and volunteers at 1435 City Councillors St. Registration is required.
